Even though the instructors just overwhelmed us with everything I think they want us to pick the things we know we can use. Other than the blog, the only other required elements are using some sort of media site well enough for the classroom and to present in public. I don't think I can maintain a wiki, and I don't have the Mac or iPod for podcasting, but I know I will use Picasa, Piclens, Skype, and Zoho. Get comfortable there with posting your ideas and thoughts about working with your students. Then build in the responding by students as part of your curriculum requirements. You could post an excerise or assignment that you normally give but make students respond to the assignment on your blog instead of paper and pencil. Give them say 2 weeks to get in their response and one response to another student''s ideas. Then bring in maybe Animoto in a project for a science project later in the year. Second semester you might be able to start building the wiki. Take one item at a time build it into what you already do anyway in you work. First focus on one thing like your blog. If I were you, I'd forget about trying to maintain a website because a blog can replace it. Concentrate on your blog and incorporate the other tools as you can. Get your students / parents reading and commenting on it. It's a good hub for your classroom communication. Pick and choose; don't feel you have to do everything right away.
